Will European Commission Approve Germany’s Plan to Legalize Recreational Cannabis?
I’m not into drugs, but I don’t judge people who do.
Well, let me be clear. I don’t have anything against adults who decide to use some drugs for recreational purposes as long as they do it discreetly and they don’t harm themselves or others. But then there are drugs and drugs, and users and users.
Cannabis is now considered one of the lowest-risk drugs due to its heavy consumption worldwide and the various studies to determine its therapeutical potential on top of the recreational one.
But, of course, opposers claim that even if it’s low risk, cannabis can become a gateway drug for other riskier and more promiscuous ones. I’m not with that group.
I think that it’s not the drug itself that sets you up on a path of destruction; it’s your overall mental state when you start consuming it.
I know many well-rounded individuals who consume cannabis or mushrooms in a rather infrequent manner. But I also know people who go for the more synthetic drugs, such as MDMA, ecstasy or LSD — and these people are equally fine. They are not addicts, and they function well in society.
