There is no doubt the fact that putting effort into something is a key ingredient to progress, yet, for some people the effort required to reach a certain craftsmanship milestone is more significant than for others, so called “naturals". Similarly, there is no guarantee that if you have 0 talent for a creative domain, even if you put thousands of hours into it, you will reach the success. I wouldn’t invest my time and effort, for example, in something where I lack even the slighstest bit of talent. Talent goes a long way. It help build your self-confidence which then becomes a perpetum mobile in itself.
