This Is No Longer a War Between Russia and Ukraine — or It Never was.

It sucks everybody in.

Sadly, after more than two years of pandemics, we’re worn out by anxiety. And instead of taking a break and getting back to a form of normality that we started constructing now, with the anti-Covid vaccination available, we’re yet to count deaths. Not by a virus but man-made.

Anyone who lives in Europe these days is scared. We’re scared by the uncertainty of “what will happen next”. Because we’re afraid, we’re talking about it and like when the pandemic started, we all have some sort of opinion, which is fine. We need to talk about our concerns, even if only to vent ourselves.

We’re almost two weeks into the war, and we’re starting to adjust to this new reality. TV and media overflow with news on the war as if nothing else happens in the world right now, and Covid is last year’s news. We’re all making efforts to accommodate Ukrainian refugees in the neighbouring countries, donating humanitarian support to those who stayed in the country.

The US and Europe have moved impressive amounts of military aid to defend Ukraine, and they are walking on thin ice with Russia regarding their non-interfering agreements.
