Haven't seen it but I read the summary on imdb website and I must say I totally understand what Shirley feels losing her identity. Worse, I realize I did not necessarily lost it, but I hide it and instead adapt to what I consider is acceptable besides my husband. So whenever I meet new people, my old identity (which has also refined over time) comes to surface. That person enjoys storytelling over a glass of wine, is outgoing and confident, a little ackward but in a cute way, fun and intelligent and believes in people. I drop my sarcasm that I developed next to my husband, my skepticism towards people's intentions and I stop the small talk bullshit. Thanks for the film recommendation!
