And thaks for sharing! As you corectly pointed out it's not about oversharing but sharing with intention. Sadly, I do have a colleague now who is super stressed and super pissed at our boss. He is very vocal and this could cost him his job. I am pretty sure our boss won't see his complaints as a correcting feedback, the opportunity to improve, but he'd see a guy who complaints instead of delivering things. We all see where this guy is coming from. He is right. But he talks too much with too many. There's a fine line between being brave and reckless and he may have just crossed the last. He asked be why other people don't speak out if they feel the same. Well it's simple: you need to pause before you open your mouth, run a quick risk assessment and a ROI analysis and then speak. It's difficult but not impossible. And once you got yourself burt a couple of times, you learn to share stuff that can potentially backfire, only with people you know and trust. So, just thought I'd share this new story I got to substantiate my point. Hugs! Eva.
